Its Funny....actually...it is not funny...

Oh sure, I was depressed and such when I was laid off, but I got over the sad aspect rather quickly.  Yes it did turn into anger, bitterness, and bitchiness but it was manageable.  In the time between October 14 and Christmas, I was actually ok with not having a job.

Now so, not so much...

Once I got home from visiting family, the sadness hit hard.  Here I am in a "city" (If you can call it that), where there are very limited jobs.  It is difficult to travel to another city to look for work, there is no such thing as a Day Trip.  Which makes the next option to just pack up and move.  And if I did move, where would I move to....  I have never moved without having a job in place before hand, which is why this idea scares me so much.

Do I move, and where to? Do I keep going for Radio?  Do I try another line of work?  Do I go back to school and if so, what do I take?

My decision making is paralyzed.....

I was laid off yesterday.  The station Deleted my Position.

So now what am I going to do?

Should I Build An Ark???

We have received 63.1 milimeters of rain since Thursday...(That is 2.5 inches of Rain)...and it is not done yet...Wind Warnings out for monday evening and more rain all week.

Saturday, it started coming down really fast....The walkway to my door slants down and my door is raised a bit...but the water was pouring out of the gutters and hitting near my door, and then running to my door...it started to flood...a little came in...mostly because the wind blew it in...got it stopped...then got outside and started scooping.  The landlord is looking at it Monday...

This is what is looks like normally (I took it after the water was gone)

Here it is flooding

Radio DJ Quits On Air

Posted on 10.02.2008 at 20:56

A DJ in Jacksonville FL heard he was going to be fired so he quit on Air.

Click Here To Download MP3 of it.

What he says is so true...anyone who works in radio never knows if they have a job the next day.  People get fired and transfer all the time...contract or no contract.

And We Call It Mellow Yellow

It has been a while since I posted.  I was trying to get to my posting site when my internet died.  Checked the DSL modem and the ADSL light was missing.  Called Telus and they say there was a problem with the IP address the modem was trying to find.  took about 30 minutes to fix.

So many things I could type about....so lets do a mixture of bullet points

- No I still have not jumped on the Twitter or Facebook bandwagon and have no intention.  I think people who have Data cell phones that are posting to their sites or to twitter need some help.  Come on People, there are more important things.

- Financial Crisis: US Government - you got us in this mess, get us out NOW by giving the money to the people and small businesses to pay their bills, which will then flow to the larger companies and help solve the problem.

- Canadian Election: God Help Us if Stephen Harper gets a Majority Government but the Liberals are not doing well either so who knows what will happen.  GO VOTE October 14th.

- US Election:  When will it end???? I am sick sick sick of it.  No other country is put into an election mode for this long......

- BC Municipal elections:  In Powell River...who knows what happened in the past, but when someone is elected in a by-election in February and can not last until the November vote day, who looks bad, the city or the councillor...either way...the wasted money to elect the councillor.   Change is a comming.....

- Any Show Biz Famous Person who did not die: Who Cares what you did....

- TV Shows: David E Kelly your new show, Life on Mars, looks like crap.  Stick with Boston Legal.  Grey's Anatomy could be a good season.  Desperate housewives...not bad.  Air Farce, Scrubs and Corner Gas - DON'T LEAVE ME.

- Movies: No I did not see Batman...and the movie theatre here is very old and has no A/C...gets very hot...no plans to go back.

Well that is a start.  Lets see if I can keep up the momentum.

Been too long

It has been 7 weeks since I last updated this. I forgot my password and had to reset it.

One of my favorite movies was on TV today. These Old Broads I found the movie shortly after its release when one week I was not feeling good and went to the local video store to rent some cheap VHS tapes. This was one of them. I fell in love with it and found a copy on E-Bay to buy, which is in a box somewhere.

A lot has happened

A lot has happened since I last posted

1. Accepted a job at a radio station in Powell River B.C.
2. Moved to Powell River BC
3. Signed up for Shaw cable because they had VOD, PPV, and Canadian time shifting, all of which I can not receive in Powell River.
4. Killing time till I start my new job on Monday.
